I graduated from Uskudar American Academy in 2002 and attended Marmara University Faculty of Medicine. During my medical education I visited several cIinics at University of Pensylvania School of Medicine. I worked as a GP for 1,5 years, then in 2010 I started residency program at Marmara University Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.

My primary clinical and research interests include rhinology, olfactory disorders, endoscopic sinus surgery, and septal perforation repair. Throughout my training and professional practice, I focused on the functional and anatomical preservation of the sinonasal system and the development of minimally invasive endoscopic techniques for nasal and sinus disorders.

I have been working at Kartal Dr.Lutfi Kirdar City Hospital as consultant specialist since 2016.

Dr. Yvonne Chan is a Professor, Vice-Chair of Education, and Director of Continuing Professional Development in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto, and serves as Otolaryngologist-in-Chief at St. Michael’s Hospital. She completed advanced fellowship training in rhinology and anterior skull base surgery in both the United States and Australia.

Since 2015, Dr. Chan has served as co-editor of the internationally recognized textbook K. J. Lee’s Essential Otolaryngology, now in its 13th edition. She has also co-edited several other authoritative texts, including Essential Rhinology and Allergy (Volumes 1 and 2) and Rhinology and Allergy: A Clinical Reference Guide.

Dr. Chaaban is Vice Chair of Research and Associate Professor of Otolaryngology at the Cleveland Clinic. He specializes in Rhinology, with a focus on chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and nasal polyposis.

His research interests include the role of obesity in CRS, endotyping of CRS, and immune responses related to olfactory dysfunction. He is also involved in clinical informatics and comparative effectiveness research and has extensive experience in database-driven studies. Dr. Chaaban has authored over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts, contributed to multiple chapters in major otolaryngology textbooks, and served as editor of a textbook in the field.

Dr. Chaaban graduated with honors from the American University of Beirut and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency at the University of Chicago and a Rhinology fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Research, a Master’s in Clinical Informatics, and an MBA in Healthcare from George Washington University. He is board-certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine with a specialization in Clinical Informatics.

He is an active member of professional societies including the American Rhinologic Society (ARS) and the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS).
