Dr. Alperen Vural is a professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty. With specialized expertise in head and neck surgery and endoscopic skull base surgery, he contributes to both clinical practice and academic research.
Dr. Vural serves as an editor for several scientific journals, including the Journal of Clinical Practice and Research and the Balkan Medical Journal, and is actively involved in peer review for numerous international publications. He has presented extensively at global conferences and has particapated as a faculty in various instructional courses on skull base surgery.
Currently, Dr. Vural is the Secretary General of the Turkish Skull Base Society. He also serves as the Co-Chair of Young–IFOS/IFOS Istanbul Congress.

David Liu is a rhinologist and anterior skull base surgeon at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Medical University of Vienna. He completed his residency training in Vienna and a fellowship in Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery at Stanford University, where he subsequently served as Clinical Instructor. His clinical and academic work focuses on chronic rhinosinusitis, olfactory disorders, endoscopic sinus surgery, and anterior skull base surgery. He serves on the Executive Committee of the European Rhinologic Society.
Dr. Hakan Kara is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Istanbul University. He is also a PhD student at the Department of Immunology, Aziz Sancar Institute of Experimental Medicine. His clinical and academic work focuses on rhinology, chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyposis, endoscopic skull base surgery, and sinonasal tumors. His research investigates the immunopathogenesis of sinonasal inflammatory diseases, with particular emphasis on T helper cell subsets and cytokine profiling. As a physician-scientist, Dr. Kara is actively engaged in translational research integrating clinical rhinology and immunology to advance the understanding of inflammatory airway diseases and sinonasal tumors and to support the development of targeted therapeutic strategies.
