<p>Ewa Olszewska, M.D., Ph.D., titled professor graduated from the Medical University of Bialystok, Poland. She started her academic career as an assistant in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology Medical University of Bialystok, Poland.</p> <p>After a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, she passed the board exam.</p> <p>She achieved Ph.D. for the dissertation „ Some markers of proliferative and apoptotic activity in cholesteatoma epithelium in adults”. Her dissertation was awarded for the best Ph.D. dissection in 2002 by the Polish Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Head Surgeon.</p> <p>She became an associate Professor in 2007-2013 and a titled Professor 6 years later.</p> <p>She was a director of the Ph.D. program at the Medical University of Bialystok, Poland from 2012 to 2017. She completed many scientific and clinical scholarships and observerships. Among many, there were scholarships in the Department of Otolaryngology in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria earned from the Austrian-American Foundation, scientific research concerning pathogenesis of cholesteatoma in the laboratory of Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany, observership in the Department of Otolaryngology Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, USA, observership in the Department of Otolaryngology Loyola University, Chicago, USA, earned from Kosciuszko Foundation, observership in the Department of Otolaryngology St. Louis University, USA, observership in the Department of Otolaryngology Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA, observership in the Department of Otolaryngology, Division of Sleep Medicine, University of Michigan, USA.</p> <p>She is an associate Editor of the Journal of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, a member of the Editorial Board of Otology&Neurotology and Journal of International Advanced Otology, a member of the International Surgical Sleep Society, World Sleep Society and Polish Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.</p> <p>She is a co-author of 214 publications, IF 135.237, Citation in Web of Science Core Collection 1102, H-index 16.</p> <p>She is the author of the book “Snoring and sleep apnea- diagnostics and Treatment”, Medipage Warsaw 2019.</p> <p>Currently, she is a director of the Sleep Apnea Surgery Center, at the Department of Otolaryngology Medical University of Bialystok, Poland</p> <p>Her main interests are diagnostic and treatment protocols in obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), surgical procedures in OSA, research related to potential biomarkers and oxidative stress in OSA.</p>

<p>Andrea De Vito is currently ENT Unit Director at Morgagni-Pierantoni Hospital. His is an experienced surgeon in head and neck oncologic surgery, middle ear surgery, with special experience in Laser CO2 laryngeal surgery, and Trans Oral Robotic surgery for oncologic and patients affected by Sleep-Disordered Breathing (SDB), collecting more than 9.000 surgical procedures, certified by Logo 80 digital system, HLA of Romagna. His special interest on SDB diagnosis and treatment option, and head and neck oncology are confirmed by more than 90 publications on IF journals. He is currently Chair for the scientific national commission on SDB for Italian Association of OtoRhinoLaryngology &amp; Head and Neck Surgery, EOS.DRS master course teacher and tutor (2010-2023) and EOS.DRS master course co-director 2023-2024. He is an active member of Italian Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head &amp; Neck Surgery and World Sleep Association.</p>

<p>Prof. Dr Joachim T. Maurer MD is an internationally recognized expert for the treatment of sleep disorders, in particular obstructive sleep apnea and snoring. He is Director of the Division of Sleep Medicine of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the University Hospital in Mannheim, University of Heidelberg. Furthermore, he teaches at the University of Applied Sciences, Mannheim.</p> <p>Dr. Maurer has authored more than 160 original research articles, review articles, and book chapters on OSA and snoring in many scientific and medical journals. He edited a textbook on sleep medicine and is associate editor of “Sleep and Breathing” and “Somnology”. He regularly appraises sleep disorders centers, is examiner for applicants in sleep disorders specialisation, and course director “Diagnosis and treatment of sleep disordered breathing”.</p> <p>His research focuses on pathophysiology, diagnosis, and functional treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. He is a primary investigator in several clinical trials for all available Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulation Systems as well as other innovative treatments. For 15 years he supports and launches an ENT-Department with residents’ training in the District Hospital of Ruli and the University Hospital in Kigali, Rwanda.</p>

<p>Mr. Cheong is a substantive Consultant ENT and Specialist Sleep Surgeon at the world leading Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He is currently the only Consultant ENT Surgeon in London and the UK with a full-time NHS practice exclusively in snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.</p> <p>He is a multi-award-winning surgeon from prestigious institutions such as the Royal Society of Medicine, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the British Rhinological Society. He completed his extensive higher surgical training in the full breadth of ENT at world class institutions such as the Royal Marsden Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the Royal London Hospital.</p> <p>Mr. Cheong successfully performed the first Genio Nyxoah hypoglossal nerve implants and the first female Inspire hypoglossal nerve implants for sleep apnoea in the UK, being the first surgeon in the UK to accomplish this he has been featured on the BBC, Sky News, The Guardian, The Times and other media outlets.</p> <p>He is the Founder and Director of the first International Sleep Surgery Course in the UK accredited by ENT-UK.</p> <p>He is also the first surgeon in the United Kingdom to have completed the Royal Society of Medicine Ellison-Cliffe Travelling Fellowship at the Stanford University Hospital Sleep Medicine Division and the Dowager Countess Eleanor Peel Trust Travelling Fellowship at the Asia Sleep Surgery Centre in Singapore.</p> <p>He has delivered more than 40 international and national academic presentations and published in high impact peer-reviewed journals such as the Lancet and JAMA. He is a regularly invited Key Note international speaker at scientific meetings. He has held multiple leadership positions in national ENT societies including the British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery.
