He is preparing for 2026 Politzer society meeting in Seoul, Korea as a congress president.

Norio Yamamoto is the director of the Department of Otolaryngology at Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital, Kobe, Japan. Before joining Kobe City Medical Center, Dr. Yamamoto was an associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. Before that, Dr. Yamamoto worked as a visiting fellow at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, National Institutes of Health, USA. Dr. Yamamoto graduated from the medical school of Kyoto University and obtained a PhD from the Graduate School of Medicine at Kyoto University. Dr. Yamamoto specializes in Otology and Neurotology surgeries, including CI surgeries, as well as basic research on cochlear regeneration.
Henrique Furlan Pauna, MD, MBA, PhD, is a physician, otorhinolaryngologist, and university professor with expertise in otology, neurotology, and auditory rehabilitation. He holds a PhD in Medicine and is actively involved in clinical practice, medical education, and scientific research.
Dr. Pauna’s academic work focuses on hearing disorders, including sudden sensorineural hearing loss, Ménière’s disease, intratympanic therapies, and auditory rehabilitation. He has experience in clinical research methodology, systematic reviews, and evidence-based medicine, contributing to national and international scientific publications.
In addition to his research activities, he teaches undergraduate medical students and participates in postgraduate training, emphasizing clinical reasoning and practical medical education. He is also engaged in collaborative research initiatives and funding projects related to hearing loss and otologic diseases.
