Reconstruction of oral cavity tumors with free flaps

Free flaps are frequently used in the reconstruction of tumors in the head and neck region. In our hospital, which is one of the centers where the most head and neck cancer surgery is performed in Türkiye, free flaps are performed by otolaryngologists, and information will be provided on the introduction of the operation videos, difficulties and how to cope with complications.

Bayram Barış Büyük, MD, is an Otolaryngologist and Head & Neck Surgeon at Ankara Oncology Training and Research Hospital, Turkey. His clinical and academic focus is on head and neck oncologic surgery, particularly reconstructive procedures, free flap reconstruction, and microsurgical techniques. He is actively involved in complex head and neck cancer management and multidisciplinary decision-making processes. In addition to oncologic reconstruction, he conducts research on artificial cadaver models in endoscopic sinus surgery, aiming to improve surgical training and simulation-based education. Dr. Büyük has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and continues to pursue research integrating surgical innovation, education, and advanced technologies in otolaryngology.
