Vestibular Migraine & Comorbidities will be discussed
MSc.Pınar Yalınay Dikmen is a neurologist and a neurophysiologist working as a professor at Department of Neurology in Acıbadem University, School of Medicine in Istanbul. She graduated from Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty. She completed a Master of Science degree in Neurophysiology from Istanbul University, The Institute of Health Sciences. She was entitled as Fellow of the European Board of Neurology in 2013. She is a member of International Vestibular Society "Local Registered Committee”. She has more than 70 published papers in peer-reviewed international and national medical journals. Her areas of interest and work are clinical headache studies, vestibular diseases, and electrophysiology.
Dr. Fumiyuki Goto received his M.D. from the Keio University School of Medicine in March 1994. He entered the doctoral program at the same institution in April 1998 and conducted research on vestibular compensation during a research fellowship at the University of Munich, Department of Physiology, from April 1999 to March 2001. He subsequently pursued research on otolith-ocular reflexes at the Tokyo Medical University from April 2001 to March 2002.
He completed his Ph.D. in March 2002 and began his academic career as an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Keio University.
In April 2007, Dr. Goto was appointed visiting lecturer at Keio University. He served as the head of the Department of Otolaryngology at Hino Municipal Hospital from 2008 and concurrently worked as a part-time physician at the National Center for Child Health and Development starting in June 2009.
In April 2012, he joined the Department of Otolaryngology at the National Hospital Organization Tokyo Medical Center. He became Head of the Laboratory for Equilibrium Disorders at the Center for Clinical Research of the same institution in April 2014. He also served as a part-time lecturer at Kyorin University School of Medicine starting in April 2013.
In July 2018, he was appointed Associate Professor in the Division of Otorhinolaryngology, Department of Clinical Medicine, Tokai University School of Medicine. In April 2023, the division was reorganized as the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, where he continued as Associate Professor. Since 2024, Dr. Goto has been serving as Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Tokai University School of Medicine.
Dr. Goto's clinical and research interests include vestibular disorders, psychosomatic otorhinolaryngology, and auditory perception. He has published numerous papers in these fields and remains actively involved in both patient care and clinical research.
I garduated from Ankara University Medicine Faculty (2005), Gazi University Medicine Faculty Deaprtment of Otorhinolaryngology (2010). I have been working as an ENT specialist for 15 years. I got PhD dgree in neuroscience at 2023 from gazi University Health Science Faculty Neuroscience Department. I have been working as a scientist at Mugla Sitki Kocman University since 2018. I especially intersted in central auditory processing and diseases which effects this process.
Dr. Vishal Pawar is a distinguished neurologist with over 12 years of experience in diagnosing and managing a wide spectrum of neurological disorders, with a special interest in vestibular medicine and headache disorders. He currently practices at Unicare Medical Center in Dubai and is the founder of a dedicated Vertigo Clinic, where he has successfully treated over 4,000 patients with vestibular disorders since 2019. His expertise spans advanced vestibular diagnostics including videonystagmography, video head impulse testing, and posturography, along with comprehensive vestibular rehabilitation strategies.
Dr. Pawar holds dual Diplomate of National Board (DNB) qualifications in Internal Medicine and Neurology. He further honed his expertise through specialized training in vestibular medicine from the American Institute of Balance (USA) and Yenepoya University (India), and earned the European Board of Neurology Fellowship. He also holds the Specialty Certificate in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians (UK).
As a clinician-researcher, Dr. Pawar has authored 38 publications in reputed journals, including work on anterior canal BPPV, vestibular migraine, and vascular brainstem compression syndromes. He actively contributed to the INTERACT2 trial, one of the most influential studies on acute intracerebral hemorrhage. His research and clinical work earned him accolades such as the Best Medical Researcher Award (2022), Aster Clinical and Academic Excellence Award (2023), and several recognitions for academic contributions.
Dr. Pawar is deeply committed to education and has delivered over 120 keynote lectures internationally, participated in numerous panel discussions, and conducted instructional courses in central vestibular disorders. He has presented his work at prestigious forums including the Barany Society Meeting, EROC, Dubai Otology, and World Congress of Neurology.
He is affiliated with the Dubai Health Authority, American Academy of Neurology, International Headache Society, and Indian Academy of Neurology. Beyond clinical work, Dr. Pawar is a practitioner of yoga and meditation and an enthusiast of cricket and tennis. His approach integrates holistic care with scientific rigor, reflecting his vision to establish a state-of-the-art vestibular care center in Dubai while contributing meaningfully to global neurotological research and education.
Dr. Pelin Koçdor, MD, PhD Associate Professor of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Başkent University, Istanbul, Türkiye
Dr. Pelin Koçdor is an otologist and neurotologist with a strong foundation in both clinical surgery and neuroscience research. She currently serves as an Associate Professor at Başkent University, where she specializes in otology, lateral skull base surgery, cochlear implantation, and complex vestibular disorders.
She completed her PhD in Neuroscience at Koç University with a focus on migraine, CGRP signaling, and hearing loss—bridging molecular neurobiology with clinical otology. Dr. Koçdor has completed fellowships in otology and neurotology at the Paparella Ear Head and Neck Institute and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Her research interests include vestibular migraine, Ménière’s disease, autoimmune inner ear disease, and the role of neuroinflammation in otologic conditions. She is a recipient of the Politzer Society Gold Medal (2022) and has been supported by TUBITAK and the Capita Foundation for her auditory research.
Dr. Koçdor is a member of the American Neurotology Society, the Politzer Society, and the Turkish ENT Society, and is certified by both the Turkish and European Boards in Otolaryngology.
