<p>Dr. Kyung Tae is a professor in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. He is also the founder and Director of the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS) and the Director of Hanyang University Hospital Cancer Center. He served as the President of the Korean Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 2014-2015 and vice president of the Korean Thyroid Association in 2016-2017. Dr. Tae also served as General-Secretary of the Korean Society of Thyroid, Head and Neck Surgery, and the Korean Society of Head and Neck Oncology.</p> <p>His primary clinical and research interests include thyroid/parathyroid surgery, especially robotic and endoscopic thyroid surgery, and head and neck oncology. He is an expert on robotic thyroid and head and neck surgery. He has published more than 350 articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters.</p>

<p>Professor Che-Wei Wu is the Chair and Professor of the School of Medicine at Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) and the Chief of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at KMU Hospital in Taiwan. He earned his MD, MMSc, and PhD degrees from KMU. He is currently the Board Member of the International Neural Monitoring Study Group (INMSG), a Council member of the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS), a Director of Taiwan Head and Neck Society (THNS) & Taiwan Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (TSOHNS), and an editorial board member of many international journals.</p> <p>Professor Wu has focused his research on applying intraoperative electrophysiologic neuromonitoring (IONM) to prevent injury to the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) and the external branch of the superior laryngeal nerve (EBSLN) during thyroid and parathyroid surgery since 2005. His research team has developed an experimental animal model using continuous IONM to investigate the mechanisms of RLN injury and has developed several novel IONM techniques.</p>

<p>Professor AbdulWahid M. Salih is a Professor of Surgery at the College of Medicine, University of Sulaimani, and a Consultant General Surgeon specializing in Head and Neck Surgery and Breast Surgery in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. He earned his MBChB degree from Salahaddin University, Erbil, in 1998 and completed his Clinical MD in General Surgery at the University of Khartoum, Sudan, in 2006. He was appointed Assistant Professor in 2017 and promoted to Professor in 2023.</p> <p>Professor Salih is the Founder and President of the Middle East Thyroid Summit (METS), Founder of the Iraqi Breast Cancer Summit (IBCS), and Founder of the Kscien Organization for Scientific Research. He is an executive committee Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS) and active member of several international professional societies, including the American Thyroid Association (ATA), European Thyroid Association (ETA), British Thyroid Association (BTA), International Pilonidal Society (IPS), and Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS).</p> <p>Professor Salih has dedicated his career to advancing head and neck surgery, thyroid surgery, breast surgery, and surgical oncology through clinical excellence, research, and medical education. He has completed advanced international training in thyroid and head and neck surgery, breast surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and research methodology, and has been an invited speaker and faculty member at numerous international scientific meetings, including the World Congress on Thyroid Cancer (WCTC), the European Thyroid Association (ETA), the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS), and the British Thyroid Association (BTA). He has also organized major international scientific meetings in Iraq, including the inaugural Middle East Thyroid Summit and the first Iraqi Breast Cancer Summit.</p> <p>His academic interests focus on head and neck surgery, thyroid diseases, breast surgery, surgical oncology, and surgical education. Through his leadership and international collaborations, Professor Salih continues to promote multidisciplinary patient care, research, and global academic partnerships, contributing significantly to the advancement of surgery and medical education in the Middle East.</p>
