Abdulwahid M. Salih

<p>Professor AbdulWahid M. Salih is a Professor of Surgery at the College of Medicine, University of Sulaimani, and a Consultant General Surgeon specializing in Head and Neck Surgery and Breast Surgery in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. He earned his MBChB degree from Salahaddin University, Erbil, in 1998 and completed his Clinical MD in General Surgery at the University of Khartoum, Sudan, in 2006. He was appointed Assistant Professor in 2017 and promoted to Professor in 2023.</p> <p>Professor Salih is the Founder and President of the Middle East Thyroid Summit (METS), Founder of the Iraqi Breast Cancer Summit (IBCS), and Founder of the Kscien Organization for Scientific Research. He is an executive committee Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS) and active member of several international professional societies, including the American Thyroid Association (ATA), European Thyroid Association (ETA), British Thyroid Association (BTA), International Pilonidal Society (IPS), and Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS).</p> <p>Professor Salih has dedicated his career to advancing head and neck surgery, thyroid surgery, breast surgery, and surgical oncology through clinical excellence, research, and medical education. He has completed advanced international training in thyroid and head and neck surgery, breast surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and research methodology, and has been an invited speaker and faculty member at numerous international scientific meetings, including the World Congress on Thyroid Cancer (WCTC), the European Thyroid Association (ETA), the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS), and the British Thyroid Association (BTA). He has also organized major international scientific meetings in Iraq, including the inaugural Middle East Thyroid Summit and the first Iraqi Breast Cancer Summit.</p> <p>His academic interests focus on head and neck surgery, thyroid diseases, breast surgery, surgical oncology, and surgical education. Through his leadership and international collaborations, Professor Salih continues to promote multidisciplinary patient care, research, and global academic partnerships, contributing significantly to the advancement of surgery and medical education in the Middle East.</p>
