Dr. Zerrin Özergin Coşkun is a medical doctor and academic based in Türkiye, with extensive experience in clinical practice, medical education, and scientific research. Her professional work focuses particularly on otorhinolaryngology and sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea. She has been actively involved in the evaluation and management of upper airway diseases, combining clinical expertise with evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.

Dr. Coşkun has contributed to various academic projects, scientific meetings, and congress presentations at national and international levels. Her research interests include upper airway anatomy, surgical treatment outcomes, inflammatory and molecular biomarkers in obstructive sleep apnea, and multidisciplinary approaches to complex airway disorders. She is particularly interested in integrating translational research findings into daily clinical practice.

In addition to her clinical and research activities, Dr. Coşkun is committed to medical education and mentorship. She has supported the training of medical students and young physicians, encouraging their participation in research projects and scientific initiatives. She also takes part in community-oriented activities aimed at raising awareness about sleep health and preventive medicine.

Prof. Mario Milkov, MD, PhD graduated from Medical University “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stojanov” – Varna in 1995.

Since 2002, he has been a specialist in Otorhinolaryngology, Surgery of the Head and Neck. In 2005, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis related to modern ossicular prostheses.

Main professional and scientific interests in the field of otology, neurotology, audio-vestibular medicine, biomaterials, sleep medicine, hearing prevention in newborns and early childhood. He holds a patent for the first Bulgarian ossicular prosthesis.

He is the creator of the bulgarian society of “obstructive sleep apnea and snoring” in 2012. He proposes and creates together with colleagues from the Black Sea countries the “International Black Sea Otological and Neurootological Association“ in 2017.

Prof. Mario Milkov is the Head of the Department “Dental materials science and prosthetic dental medicine” in Faculty of Dental medicine, Medical University – Varna.

Since March 2024 is appointed as Vice-Rector for “International relations”, Medical University – Varna.

He works at the “Audio-vestibular and sleep medicine” sector, University Medical and Dental Center.

Prof. Milkov is the Chairperson of the “Alumni club and Friends” – Medical University – Varna.

I graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 2010 and completed my residency in Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Düzce University Faculty of Medicine in 2015. I became a Fellow of the European Board of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (FEBORL-HNS) in 2022. I am currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Health Sciences, Gaziosmanpaşa Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul, Türkiye. My main clinical and academic interests include hinology, head and neck surgery, obstructive sleep apnea and upper airway surgery, medical education, and emerging technologies and innovation in otorhinolaryngology.
