Rhinoplasty is a common surgical procedure that aims to correct nasal deformities and improve aesthetic appearance and functional breathing. In cases of deviated noses, surgeons often need to choose between preservation or structural techniques. This lecture will critically evaluate the existing literature to compare the efficacy, outcomes, and complications of preservation versus structural rhinoplasty, specifically in the context of deviated noses. The decision between preservation and structural rhinoplasty in deviated noses remains complex and multifaceted. While preservation rhinoplasty may offer advantages in terms of less invasive maneuvers and quicker recovery times, structural rhinoplasty may provide a more thorough correction and potentially better long-term outcomes.
To consider individual patient characteristics, preferences, and the surgeon's expertise when deciding between these techniques. Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of each technique in the context of deviated noses.
