Paediatric sialorrhea is associated with multiple neurodevelopmental conditions and disabilities, resulting in significant medical, social, emotional and practical consequences. Management of drooling is complex and nuanced. There are various medical, dental, speech pathology and surgical options available. What would be the most appropriate treatment combination for a particular child? Weighing up the risks and benefits of various treatment options as a multidisciplinary team will be discussed.
To present a multidisciplinary framework in the treatment of paediatric drooling.
Dr Levi is an Otolaryngologist Head & Neck Surgeon with major interest in paediatric Head & Neck Tumours, complex airway and congenital conditions. He has published and presented internationally on management of drooling, paediatric tumours, and airway conditions.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ozan Gökler, MD, FEBORL-HNS, is the leading senior consultant in Otolaryngology at Elbe Klinikum Stade, Germany, senior consultant at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany, and visiting faculty at Koç University School of Medicine, Istanbul, Türkiye. His main clinical and academic interests include pediatric airway surgery, laryngotracheal stenosis, and complex pediatric ENT disorders. He is also General Secretary of the German-Turkish ENT Society and a member of the European ENT Board Examination Pediatric Working Group. He is actively involved in international teaching, research, and professional education in otolaryngology.
