ABSTRACT AND POSTER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Important Dates
• It will take place between December 1-6, 2026.
Submission Rules
• Abstracts must be submitted exclusively online via https://sciencenext.org/ugh2026/cfp between 25.07.2026 and the final submission deadline of 16.09.2026.
• Authors are expected to strictly adhere to the submission guidelines; abstracts that do not comply will not be accepted for evaluation.
• The submitting author must be a researcher who has made a significant contribution to the study and holds the right to present the work.
• The corresponding author is responsible for the accuracy and scientific integrity of the submitted abstract.
• The corresponding author agrees to serve as the primary contact for all correspondence and to keep co-authors informed regarding the status of the abstract.
• The corresponding author confirms that all co-authors are aware of the abstract content, support the data, and have granted permission for submission. Proof of such permission must be provided upon request.
• The corresponding author certifies that the submission is an original work and is obligated to disclose if the work has been previously published or presented.
• The corresponding author confirms that the abstract has not been previously submitted to the National Gastroenterology Week by any other co-author.
• Any financial interests related to products or processes mentioned in the abstract must be disclosed, and a Conflict of Interest statement must be completed for each author.
• Upon acceptance for presentation, the copyright is considered transferred to the Turkish Society of Gastroenterology, and permission is granted for the abstract to be published in the 2026 National Gastroenterology Congress Supplement.
• The corresponding author confirms that all co-authors are aware that presentation materials are prepared for publication and understand that the abstract will be published if accepted.
• The corresponding author declares that permission has been obtained for all third-party materials (text excerpts, images, maps, tables, etc.).
Author Information
• The title and author names must be written in bold.
• The name of the corresponding author must be underlined.
• The corresponding author must include their email address directly below their name.
• Institutional affiliations must be written in italics and provided in the following order: department, university/faculty, city, country (e.g., Department of Gastroenterology, XXX University Faculty of Medicine, İstanbul, Türkiye).
• City and country information for all authors must be complete and accurate; submissions with missing or incorrect institutional data will be disqualified.
• ORCID IDs are mandatory for all authors. Authors without one must register at https://orcid.org/signin.
• Abstracts or posters applications with missing ORCID IDs will be deemed invalid.
Text Specifications
• Abstracts must be prepared and presented in English.
• The length of the abstract must not exceed 2750 characters (including spaces; excluding the title and author information).
• Title: Should be concise (max. 150 characters); use title case only for proper nouns, abbreviations, and the first letter of the sentence.
Statistical and Numerical Formatting
• Trade names, non-standard abbreviations, or author names must not be used in the title.
• Author List: Academic titles should not be included.
• Structure: Abstracts (excluding case reports) must be structured into the following four sections:
o Background: State the objective of the study.
o Methods: Describe the experimental procedures.
o Results: Summarize the findings.
o Conclusion: State the primary conclusions.
• Case Reports must follow this structure:
o Introduction: Provide brief background information.
o Case: Present the clinical case.
o Conclusion: State the key takeaways.
• Abbreviations may be used if they are standard or defined in parentheses upon first use.
• Compound names should be written using lowercase generic terms.
• Special characters (Greek letters, scientific symbols, etc.) can be added via the text insertion tab or by copying and pasting.
• Abstracts may include a maximum of 1 table or 1 figure.
• Tables are limited to a maximum of 10 rows and 10 columns.
• Images must have a minimum resolution of 300 DPI and a minimum size of 100x100mm in JPG or PNG format.
• Do not include in-text citations such as "(Figure 1)" or "(Table 1)".
• Reference numbers or direct citations must not be included in the abstract text.
Statistical and Numerical Formatting
• Pay close attention to spacing and formatting for P-values and percentages.

• Use a period (.) as the decimal separator; do not use commas (e.g., , P < .01, 37.8%).
• Do not use separators for four-digit numbers (e.g., 4563). For numbers with five or more digits, use a space (e.g., 50 000).
• Use proper mathematical symbols like ≥ and ≤instead of ">=" or "<=".
• Use the symbol “±” instead of "+/-".
• Units should be expressed as g/dL (note the capital L), mL, and kg/m² (using superscripts).
• Use superscripts for powers (e.g., 10⁶ ) instead of "10^6".
Figures and Tables
• All content and titles for figures and tables must be in English.
• Figures and tables must be placed at the end of the abstract.
• Figure Titles: Place below the figure. Start with a capital letter and end with a period.
E.g.: Figure 1. Distribution of patient responses.
• Table Titles: Place above the table. Use title case (capitalize each word) and do not use a period at the end.
