<p>Prof. Dr. Fazil Apaydin is working as a professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of Ege University in Izmir, Turkey. His subspecialty is facial plastic surgery and he is the head of Division of facial plastic surgery since 1999. He passed the board exam of the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies in 2007 to become European board certified in facial plastic surgery. He is the past president of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery which is the biggest society on facial plastic surgery in Europe since 1977. He is the UEMS representative of the academy in the UEMS-ENT committee since 2010. He is the executive board member of the Turkish Society of Facial Plastic Surgery. He is a senior advisor of the International Board Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is the treasurer of the International Federation of Facial Plastic Surgery Societies since 2022. He is the general secretary of the European Board of Examination and Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is the honorary member of the Russian Society of Plastic Surgery, Society of Rhinoplasty Surgeons of South Africa, Facialis Academy of Colombia, and the Facial Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery India Trust. He has been lecturing, teaching and operating on facial plastic surgery procedures within the last 26 years all over the world. He has written numerous articles and book chapters on facial plastic surgery. His book named as “Septal Surgery Challenges in Rhinoplasty” was published a few months ago by Springer.</p>
