Dr. Georgi Kukushev was born in 1983 in Sofia.
He graduated the Medical University of Sofia in December 2008.
In 2007, under the Erasmus program at the Charite Medical University in Berlin, Germany successfully passed the exams in internal medicine, surgery, and anesthesiology.
In 2009, he began working at the Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic at the Military Medical Academy in Sofia.
One year of his specialization, he practiced at the military hospital in Ulm, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. H. Mayer. During this period, he acquired the right to work on the territory of Germany from the medical chamber in Stuttgart.
Since 2012, Dr. Georgi Kukushev has been a recognized specialist in Ear, Nose, and Throat.
In 2014, he obtained a teaching and scientific degree "Doctor" on the topic "Functional Endoscopic Septoplasty and Turbinoplasty - Comparative Studies with Conventional Surgical Techniques".
He is an active member of the German Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases - Head and Neck Surgery.
In 2020, he was elected as a member of the working group of the Bulgarian Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases in the field of "Rhinology, Functional and Aesthetic Surgery and Skull-Based Surgery".
He is fluent in written and spoken English and German.
Cristian-Norbert Ionescu is a Phd Student at UMFST George Emil Palade Târgu-Mureș/ I.O.S.U.D. Doctoral School of Medicine and Pharmacy with the fields of study consisting of: Skull Base Tumors, Neurosciences, Artificial Intelligence, Molecular activity, Radiological modelling and Radiomics. Also with a degree of Masters of Science in Clinical Research - MSCR - UMFST George Emil Palade Târgu-Mureș/ I.O.S.U.D. and Doctoral School of Medicine and Pharmacy. Is currently in the Neurosurgery Residency training programme (PGY 5) at the Department of Neurosurgery of the County Emergency Clinical Hospital of Târgu Mureș (SCJU Targu Mures) in Romania.

Prof. Gheorghe Mühlfay, MD, PhD, graduated from the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology in Târgu - Mureș, Romania in 1978. He completed a long-term fellowship at the Ulm University Clinic in Germany, and several short ones in the medical centers of Budapest and Pécs in Hungary, specializing in Rhinology, Otology and Skull Base Surgery. He dedicated himself to the dominant practice of the FESS method in Romanian otolaryngology and pursued the implementation of the technique through interdisciplinary collaborations with ophthalmologists, oral-maxillofacial surgeons and neurosurgeons. He addressed the treatment of orbitally complicated septic rhinosinusitis, respectively the ablation of tumors of the nasal fossae and accessory cavities. In ear surgery, he was concerned with hearing rehabilitation and the treatment of otic foci. And in mixed teams he addressed transnasal rhinobase disorders, pituitary and cerebral fossae pathologies.
Scientific research played an important role in his training, being a coordinator and member of Romanian and international research teams, having as study object the evaluation of the role of sense organs in the quality of life, the importance of the microbial complex in the pathophysiology of some systemic diseases and the surgical correlation of the symptoms in states of sinus hyperpneumatization with functional microsurgery techniques.
He promoted his results through presentations at international congresses of AAO-HNS, World Congress of Interamerican Association of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, European Society of ENT, European Society of Rhinology, Balkan Society of ENT, Turkish Society of ENT and HNS, respectively in the Pittsburgh Medical Center and Budapest as a Visiting professor, as well as through publications. He was an invited lecturer at national and international events. He is a Corresponding Member of the German ENT-HNS Society.
Assist. Prof. Karin Ursula Horváth, MD, PhD, graduated from the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology in Târgu - Mureș, Romania in 1991. She completed several long-term fellowships at university clinics in Germany and Hungary, devoting her attention to oculo-orbital complications of rhino-sinus etiology, anterior segment surgery, treatment of various corneal pathologies by the crosslinking method, modern lens surgery with premium intraocular implants and more recently to the study of the correlation of retinal microcirculation biomarkers with coronary-cardiac and neurological pathology.
Scientific research had an important place in her training, being the coordinator of an experimental research team studying the influence of systemic selective alpha-blocker and anxiolytic treatment on intraoperative iris behavior of the floppy iris type. In recent years, she has been a member of an international research team studying the effect of crosslinking irradiation on ocular and eyelid collagen tissue.
She has promoted her results through presentations at international congresses of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Deutsche Ophthalmologische Gesellschaft, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Society, Black Sea Ophthalmology Society, Balkan Society of ENT, South-East European Ophthalmological Society, as well as through numerous publications. She has been an invited lecturer at national and international events, and has also been an invited surgeon at live ocular surgical broadcasts.
