He was born 27 December 1967 in Afyonkarahisar. He graduated from Eskişehir Anatolian High School in 1985 and from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in 1991. He had his Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency training in Bursa Uludag University School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery between 1992 and 1996. He worked in the same department from 1996 until February 2022 as a full time professor. He retired from the department in February 2022 and currently working in his private clinic.
He has been in USA between August and October 2002, as a Visiting Professor in University of Pittsburgh, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, with special interest in Voice Disorders, Swallowing disorders and head and neck cancer surgery.
He is a member and past president of Turkish Voice, Speech and Swallowing Disorders Society, a member and past president of Bursa ENT-HNS Specialists Society, a member of Advisory Board of Turkish Otolaryngology Head and Neck Society, a member of Founders Board of Turkish Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Foundation, a member of International Head and Neck Scientific Group.
His special expertise and research interests are diagnosis and treatment of voice disorders, airway disorders, swallowing disorders, head and neck cancer including thyroid.

Prof. Dr. Esra Özcebe has extensive academic and clinical expertise in voice disorders, with a particular focus on professional voice care, as well as developmental language disorders and speech sound disorders. Her work also encompasses the auditory rehabilitation of children with hearing loss.
In 2013, she served as the founding Head of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Hacettepe University and as a faculty member. She currently serves as Head of the Department of Audiology at the Faculty of Health Sciences, İstanbul University-Cerrahpaşa.
Prof. Dr. Özcebe has authored numerous national and international research articles, books, and book chapters in her areas of expertise.
