To discuss indications, application methods and long-term results of semi-implantable middle ear implants
RATIONALE: The course aims to raise awareness among young specialists about that part of hearing rehabilitation that is middle ear implantology, that is still limited in its use despite the wide potential for use given by clinical needs.
Since 2002, in our department we have been using middle ear implants in both sensorineural and mixed deafness in different anatomical conditions of the middle ear and mastoid.
During the course, we present indications, application methods and long-term results, up to more than 20 years, in 93 of our 150 patients for whom we had an adequate follow-up.
