Histology based multimodal treatment concepts of sinonasal malignancies
Marco Ferrari serves as Associate Professor at the University of Padova (Padova, Italy) and Consultant at the Padova University Hospital (“Azienda Ospedale Università Padova”; Padova, Italy). He trained in Brescia, Italy, and complete research fellowship in Toronto (Ontario, Canada) and Padova. His main interests are head and neck oncological surgery and ventral skull base surgery, with special interest for sinonasal, salivary, and mesenchymal cancers management. He authored a number of book chapters and peer-reviewed publications, and serves as reviewer and member of the editorial board for several journals. He also authored the book entitled Endoscopic Transnasal Anatomy of the Skull Base and Adjacent Areas, published by Thieme.
Dr. Shirley Y. Su is Professor in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She also serves as adjunct Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Su is Dual Board Certified with the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She completed two fellowships; Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Open and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Su's clinical expertise is in the endoscopic and open surgery management of complex benign and malignant tumors of the sinus, nasal cavity, nasopharynx, and skull base. Her research interests are centered around improving oncological and functional outcomes for patients treated for skull base malignancies. She is the Investigator on several prospective studies evaluating novel treatment for sinonasal cancers and to reduce the side effects of treatment. Dr. Su is the Chair of the Section of Skull Base Surgery for the American Head and Neck Society, Treasurer of the North American Skull Base Society and a past Chair of the Skull Base Surgery Committee for the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Society. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Neurological Surgery Part B. She has been invited to present at multiple national and international meetings on the topic of sinonasal tumors, skull base surgery and head and neck tumors. Dr. Su has been recognized for excellence in clinic care with a Top 1% Award.
