Tony is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. During residency at the University of Toronto, he completed the Royal College Clinician Investigator Program and a thesis-based Masters of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. After residency, he completed a comprehensive Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship at The Ohio State University.

 Tony is Chief of Otolaryngology at Michael Garron Hospital and head and neck disease site lead at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He has an active endocrine clinical practice, is a surgeon investigator, and actively participates in surgical health services research through the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) where he is an adjunct scientist. He has over 3 million dollars in active principal investigator grants and has published in NEJM, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and JAMA Surgery.
