Prof. Chen-Chi Wang is a full professor at National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University in Taipei and National Chung Hsing University in Taichung, Taiwan. He received his M.D. from National Yang-Ming University in 1994 and completed residency training in Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) in 2000. He furthered his training in phonosurgery under Prof. Hiroyuki Fukuda in Tokyo and in head and neck oncology under Prof. Eugene N. Myers at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He also studied under Prof. Steven M. Zeitels in 2004.
Prof. Wang served as Director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at TCVGH from 2017 to 2023 and leaded the International Medical Service Center from 2022 to early 2025. He is actively involved in global academic communities, having served as Secretary General (2015–2019), Executive Board Member (2019–2023), and Advisor (2023–present) of the Asia-Oceania Association of Otorhinolaryngological Societies. He is President of the Taiwan Voice Society and a board member of multiple international organizations in voice, thyroid, and robotic surgery.
His research focuses on laryngopharyngeal reflux, laryngology, and robotic head and neck surgery. He has published numerous innovative studies, including a book chapter on “EMG-Guided Injection Laryngoplasty” in Vocal Fold Injection. Prof. Wang has received numerous national honors, including the Symbol of National Quality (2016, 2021), National Innovation Award (2022), and the NHQA Diamond Prize (2024). In 2018, he was elected a member of the Collegium Oto-Rhino-Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum (CORLAS).
Professor Chan is currently Clinical Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He also is the Assistant Dean (Student Development) for the Faculty of Medicine. With a global perspective following graduating from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in London, specialist training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgery at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions with advanced training in Head and Neck surgery, microvascular reconstruction and robotics.Professor Chan’s clinical expertise covers the full breadth of head and neck surgery, including a focus on minimally invasive approaches, in particular, transoral robotic approaches for head and neck tumours. His current area of research is focused on the role of the microbiome in head and neck cancers and the development of endoluminal robotics in surgery for which he has received numerous grants and Co-Founded a robotics startup - Agilis Robotics Ltd. In addition, he serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Otolaryngology -Head and Neck Surgery, the official journal of the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and has over 100 peer reviewed published journal articles.
Dr. Joseph CHUNG is currently the Chief of Service of the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat, Queen Mary Hospital and the Honorary Clinical Associate Professor, the University of Hong Kong. After obtaining his basic medical degree from the University of Hong Kong in 2004, he completed his training in Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery at Queen Mary Hospital and is conferred as a fellow of the Hong Kong College of the Otorhinolaryngologists in 2011.
Driven by the passion in head and neck oncology and sleep surgery, Dr. Chung pursued advanced subspecialty trainings at world renowned centers, including University of California San Francisco; MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston; Singapore General Hospital, Singapore and microvascular training in China Medical University Hospital, Taichung. His expertise includes head and neck cancer resection with flap reconstruction, endoscopic skull base tumour surgery, transoral robotic surgery and multi-level sleep surgery for obstructive sleep apnea. He has published over 20 papers in peer review journals and delivered over 40 presentations in local and international conferences.
Dr. Chung is currently the Censor-in-Chief, overseeing the training and examination programmes of the Hong Kong College of the Otorhinolaryngologists. Besides he holds important positions in several professional bodies. He is the Immediate Past President of the Hong Kong Society of Otorhinolarynology – Head and Neck Surgery, Executive Board Member of the Asian Society of Head & Neck Oncology, Vice President of the Hong Kong Society of Sleep Medicine, Honorary Treasurer of the Hong Kong Head & Neck Society and Council Member of the Hong Kong Society of Robotic Surgery.
