Innovations and Technology in diagnosis and management of Vestibular Disorders
He graduated from the Medical Faculty of Aegean University in 1989 and completed his residency in Otolaryngology at İzmir Atatürk Education and Research Hospital in 1994. Following this, he spent a year as a research fellow in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh. In 1997, he received his first academic appointment at Pamukkale University. He is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Turkish Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Association, the European Academy of Otology and Neurotology, the Neurotological and Equilibriometric Society, and the Mediterranean Society of Otology and Audiology. He has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and books in both Turkish and English, primarily focused on Otology and Neurotology. In recent years, his research has centered on hearing reconstruction, implants, endoscopic ear surgery, vestibular disorders, and vestibular rehabilitation.
I am an ENT surgeon and researcher specializing in the vestibular system, with a particular focus on bilateral vestibulopathy. My research focus on gait and balance impairments associated with bilateral vestibulopathy, as well as vestibular implants. I earned my PhD from Maastricht University in the Netherlands, where I was affiliated with both the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) department and the Department of Movement Sciences. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Medicine from Guangzhou Medical University, China and a Master's degree in Otorhinolaryngology from Guangxi Medical University, China.
John is a Consultant ENT Surgeon at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; and Honorary Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of East Anglia. John has a subspecialist interest in Otology and Neurotology.
Ali Melliti is an audiologist and Ph.D. candidate at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He obtained his Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from Pacific University in Oregon, USA, in 2020, after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from California State University, Chico, in 2017. With extensive clinical experience in the United States, Tunisia, and the Netherlands, he has worked across diverse settings, providing comprehensive audiological care. His expertise includes hearing evaluation and rehabilitation for both adult and pediatric populations, tinnitus management, and vestibular evaluation in adults. His research focuses on leveraging telemedicine to enhance care for patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
Dr. Georgi Kukushev was born in 1983 in Sofia.
He graduated the Medical University of Sofia in December 2008.
In 2007, under the Erasmus program at the Charite Medical University in Berlin, Germany successfully passed the exams in internal medicine, surgery, and anesthesiology.
In 2009, he began working at the Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic at the Military Medical Academy in Sofia.
One year of his specialization, he practiced at the military hospital in Ulm, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. H. Mayer. During this period, he acquired the right to work on the territory of Germany from the medical chamber in Stuttgart.
Since 2012, Dr. Georgi Kukushev has been a recognized specialist in Ear, Nose, and Throat.
In 2014, he obtained a teaching and scientific degree "Doctor" on the topic "Functional Endoscopic Septoplasty and Turbinoplasty - Comparative Studies with Conventional Surgical Techniques".
He is an active member of the German Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases - Head and Neck Surgery.
In 2020, he was elected as a member of the working group of the Bulgarian Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases in the field of "Rhinology, Functional and Aesthetic Surgery and Skull-Based Surgery".
He is fluent in written and spoken English and German.
