<p>Dr. Sefik Hosal is currently Professor at the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Atilim University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey.</p> <p>Prof. A. Sefik Hosal (M.D.) received his medical degree from Hacettepe University Medical Faculty, Ankara, Turkey. He completed his training in Otorhinolaryngology at the same University. He became a Professor in 2003 at the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery in Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine.</p> <p>Dr. Sefik Hosal did his postgraduate training as a research fellow at Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada. He did his clinical fellowship as a visiting instructor at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, USA.</p> <p>He has more than 100 national and international publications. He is the pioneer of “Multidisciplinary Team Work in head & neck cancer” in Turkey. He is the founder and General secretary of “Head and Neck Cancer Society of Turkey”. He was an Executive Council Member of International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies (IFHNOS) (2018-2022) and current member of IFHNOS ’Masters in Head and Surgery’ section. He is an Executive Council Member of Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS) (2018-2022, 2022-2026). Prof. Hosal is currently General Secretary of European Head & Neck Society (EHNS).</p>

<p>Professor and Head of the Pathology department at Antwerp University Hospital / University of Antwerp (Belgium), with focus on Head and Neck pathology.</p> <p>She works intensively on improving surgical-pathological communication for better diagnosis, surgical results and patient outcome. She furthermore coordinates close collaboration with other academic Head and Neck centers and affiliated non-academic institutes, to facilitate design and execution of large multi-center studies.</p> <p>She focuses on histological, clinical and molecular aspects of pre-neoplasia and is conducting extensive study on histological diagnosis (and classification) of pre-neoplasia in head and neck region and potential role of biomarkers in aiding the diagnosis.</p> <p>Her department of Pathology has an open door policy for developments in photonics and optical spectroscopies and is a bridge between clinical practice and Photonics, to enable improved diagnosis and treatment.</p> <p>Research is translational with focus on medical applications of Photonics, in particular applications of Raman spectroscopy-based tools in Head and Neck surgery (Raman-guided surgical resections facilitating safe surgical margins in oral cancer).</p>

<p>Professor Dr. Mustafa Cengiz</p> <p>Radiation Oncology Department, Hacettepe University</p> <p>Prof. Cengiz is a senior radiation oncologist with international training experience in France (Institute Gustave Roussy) and the United States (Washington University, Mallinckrodt Radiology Institute ). His clinical and research interests focus on head and neck cancers, stereotactic radiotherapy, and re-irradiation strategies. He is recognized as a pioneer in the application of stereotactic radiotherapy for recurrent head and neck tumors. Prof. Cengiz has published extensively and currently serves as an associate editor for two peer-reviewed journals.</p>
