Dr. Sefik Hosal is currently Professor at the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Atilim University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey.
Prof. A. Sefik Hosal (M.D.) received his medical degree from Hacettepe University Medical Faculty, Ankara, Turkey. He completed his training in Otorhinolaryngology at the same University. He became a Professor in 2003 at the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery in Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine.
Dr. Sefik Hosal did his postgraduate training as a research fellow at Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada. He did his clinical fellowship as a visiting instructor at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, USA.
He has more than 100 national and international publications. He is the pioneer of “Multidisciplinary Team Work in head & neck cancer” in Turkey. He is the founder and General secretary of “Head and Neck Cancer Society of Turkey”. He was an Executive Council Member of International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies (IFHNOS) (2018-2022) and current member of IFHNOS ’Masters in Head and Surgery’ section. He is an Executive Council Member of Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS) (2018-2022, 2022-2026). Prof. Hosal is currently General Secretary of European Head & Neck Society (EHNS).
