Vocal Fold Cysts may remain asymptomatic or cause severe dysphonia and the symptoms typically guide the management. The primary concerns during surgery that have a direct impact on the postoperative vocal outcomes and chance of cyst recurrence are the the depth of the cyst in the lamina propria , histopathological type of cyst and achieveing complete cyst wall excision. A discussion of these factors shall be detailed. Management of large cysts and lesions that mimic cysts shall also be discussed with the importance of treading with caution highlighted in these situations.
