Assessment of Rib Cartilage Calcification by Plain Radiography: Implications for Graft Planning in Rhinoplasty

This study evaluates the prevalence and patterns of rib cartilage calcification using plain radiographs in patients undergoing rhinoplasty. The degree of calcification is analyzed to determine its impact on graft selection, carving difficulty, and surgical planning. Findings aim to guide surgeons in preoperative assessment for optimal costal cartilage harvesting and utilization.

Grafts is rhinoplasty, when and how?

Structural rhinoplasty has been known to be the rhinoplasty modality of choice to improve the vast majority of different nasal deformities, wither functional or esthetic. Using grafts in structural rhinoplasty is a crucial step in most of the cases. Therefore, Having enough background on using different types of grafts during rhinoplasty is essential for any surgeon.

The main objective of this presentation is to show a quick summary of different kinds of the most commonly used grafts during structural rhinoplasty and it’s importance in different nasal deformity scenarios. This will be in addition to two other new grafting techniques (bulding blocks grafts and septal flipping) which where extremely helpful during the author practice to augment saddle nose deformity and crooked noses.

Vedio illustrations along with 3D animations are also included within the presentation to make the ideas clearer for the audience.

Molded Diced Cartilage Grafting For Dorsal Augmentation: Early Experience with Jang's Mold

This study reports early clinical outcomes of dorsal augmentation using molded diced cartilage prepared with Jang’s mold technique. The method aims to achieve smooth dorsal contouring, improved graft stability, and reduced warping compared with conventional diced cartilage grafts. Results are evaluated in terms of aesthetic satisfaction, structural integrity, and postoperative complications.
