<p>Prof. Evren Hizal, MD, PhD, FEBORL-HNS is an otologist–neurotologist and ENT surgeon from Türkiye, with academic interests in vestibular disorders, otology, neurotology, and audiology. He serves as Secretary of the Otology & Neurotology Scientific Committee for the XXIII IFOS World Congress 2026 in Istanbul. His work focuses on vestibular physiology, balance disorders, and clinical outcomes in otologic surgery. Prof. Hizal is actively involved in international scientific collaboration, graduate and postgraduate education, and peer-reviewed research in otorhinolaryngology.</p>

<p>Dr. Greg Basura is a professor, surgeon-scientist in the Division of Otology/Neurotology-Skull Base Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. With a fifty percent research appointment he divides his time between patient care, basic science/human translational clinical research, resident/medical student teaching, administrative/committee, institutional service, student mentoring and global outreach/humanitarian efforts.</p>
<p>His clinical practice includes all aspects of otology/neurotology including hearing loss, chronic ear disease, facial nerve disorders including lateral skull base cerebrospinal fluid leaks, temporal lobe encephaloceles and skull base tumors. His clinical translational research involves investigating central auditory plasticity with hearing loss and tinnitus using innovative brain imaging involving functional near infrared spectroscopy.</p>
<p>For humanitarian outreach/service he is involved in a newly established one-year dedicated otology clinical/surgical fellowship at the University of Cape Town in South Africa with fellowship director, Dr. Tashneem Harris. He also started the African Otology Society to build community in Africa to address otology and audiology needs.</p>
