Dr. Gülpembe Bozkurt, MD, is a Turkish Otolaryngologist, Assistant Professor and Consultant in Skull Base Surgery. Between 2018-2019 she worked as a research fellow at the Faculty of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the Insubria University in Varese, Italy, in the field of skull base surgery, under the mentorship of Paolo Castelnuovo. In 2020, she joined the Faculty of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey, as a Consultant (Chief: Prof. Yavuz Uyar). At present, she holds the position of Assistant Professor and Consultant in Otorhinolaryngology at Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital, Turkey.

Her current research and clinical activities are concentrated on multidisciplinary approaches to the sinonasal and skull base cancers, focusing especially on functional outcomes after skull base surgery and current treatment strategies of sinonasal cancers. Her surgical skills are mainly focused on endoscopic sinus surgery, expanded skull base approaches, head & neck oncology. She is the author of over 30 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, especially in the field of endoscopic skull base surgery. She has been invited as a Faculty Member in national and international conferences. She has participated as invited Tutor in training courses in endoscopic sinonasal and skull base anatomy and surgical techniques (basic, intermediate and advanced levels). She has organised national cadaver dissection courses in the field of endoscopic skull base surgery with invited  international faculty members. She is a member of Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology (TKBB-BBC), Turkish Skull Base Society (TKTD), (European Rhinologic Society (ERS). She currently serves as Board Member of the Turkish Skull Base Society.

Currently serving as the Head of the Department of Otolaryngology at University Medical Center Maribor, Slovenia and as president of the Slovenian Society of otorinolaringolog. I’m a member of the AAO HNS, American Head and Neck Society, European Rhinological Society and European Skull Base Society.

Current fields of interest are advanced rhinology and rhinosurgery and endoscopic skull base surgery. Regularly collaborates with Center for Cranial Base Surgery University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he was trained in endoscopic skull base surgery.
