Endoscopic ear surgery provides a better vision in understanding the anatomy, function and the disease of the middle ear. Previous studies showed that endoscopic ear surgery is non-inferior in cholesteatoma clearance in attic cholesteatoma and congenital cholesteatoma compared with microscopic ear surgery. However, despite a clearer vision, cholesteatoma recurrence can still happen.
What are the factors that can alter the results of cholesteatoma clearance in endoscopic ear surgery?
Dr. Lau was graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2015 and has completed his ENT specialist training in Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong. He is currently an otologist in the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong, with special interests in endoscopic ear surgery and auditory implantation.
