Michael G. Stewart, MD, MPH is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He also serves as Senior Associate Dean for International Affairs and Affiliations for the Medical College and in the past he also served as Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs. He received a B.E. degree summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University, and an M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in the Houston, Texas, and received his M.P.H. degree from the University of Texas School of Public Health, Houston. He is the author of 2 textbooks, and more than 30 book chapters and 150 peer-reviewed publications. He is the former Editor-in-Chief of The Laryngoscope journal (2011-19) and is a former Director and the Past-President of the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and past Executive Vice President of the American Rhinologic Society. He is President-Elect of the American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological (aka the Triological) Society. He has received three Distinguished Service Awards from the American Academy of Oto-HNS, and Presidential and Vice Presidential Citations from four different national societies. He has been a visiting professor at more than 40 institutions, and has given more than 500 invited lectures, both nationally and internationally.
