This proposal presents a recorded operative video lecture demonstrating the surgical removal of a massive goiter. The video outlines patient positioning, incision planning, step-by-step dissection, identification and preservation of critical anatomical structures, and management of intraoperative challenges encountered during complex thyroid surgery.
The purpose of this proposal is to share practical surgical techniques and operative decision-making in massive goiter surgery, with the goal of improving safety, visualization, and surgical outcomes.
Dr. Ibrahim Salih Gecer is an otolaryngology (ENT) specialist working at a tertiary care hospital in Istanbul. He completed his medical degree at Istanbul Medical Faculty and his residency training in otolaryngology at Bağcılar Research and Training Hospital. His clinical practice includes head and neck surgery, with experience in thyroid and parathyroid procedures, outpatient ENT diagnostics, and multidisciplinary case management.
