Implementation of 3D simulation and surgical planning for rhinoplasty
09-11, 09:10–09:40 (Europe/Istanbul), Facial Plastic 2

The purpose of this proposal is to introduce and advocate for the adoption of 3D simulation and digital surgical planning tools in rhinoplasty procedures. By integrating advanced imaging and modeling technologies into preoperative planning and patient consultations, we aim to improve surgical precision, optimize aesthetic and functional outcomes, and enhance patient communication and satisfaction.

Traditional rhinoplasty planning relies heavily on two-dimensional photography, manual assessments, and surgeon experience. While effective, this approach limits the ability to visualize the nose in three dimensions, potentially affecting the accuracy of surgical predictions and patient understanding.

Advancements in 3D imaging and simulation now allow surgeons to:

  • Visualize nasal anatomy from all angles.

  • Simulate surgical outcomes with high precision.

  • Identify anatomical asymmetries or structural issues more accurately.

  • Communicate realistic expectations to patients.

Incorporating 3D planning aligns with the trend toward personalized, data-driven aesthetic surgery, offering measurable improvements in both surgical workflow and patient care.

  • Implement 3D simulation software for rhinoplasty consultations and planning.

  • Enhance patient education and informed consent through interactive visual tools.

  • Improve surgical accuracy with detailed preoperative modeling.

  • Track and compare preoperative simulations with postoperative outcomes for quality assurance.

The purpose of this proposal is to implement 3D simulation and digital surgical planning as a standard component of preoperative evaluation and patient consultation in rhinoplasty procedures. By integrating advanced imaging and visualization technologies, we aim to enhance surgical accuracy, improve aesthetic outcomes, and strengthen communication between the surgeon and patient. By adopting this technology, our practice will offer a higher standard of care, improve patient satisfaction, and position itself as a leader in advanced rhinoplasty planning.
