DESCRIPTION:<p style="margin-left: 0px!important\;">•Microvascular free t
issue transfer has become the standard in complex head and neck reconstruc
tion due to its versatility&nbsp\; in reconstructing complex defects with
tissue that better matches the recipient site. However there are still ins
tances where free flaps can fail or are not feasible due to patient factor
s.&nbsp\; Moreover\, frequently operative time may be a restricting factor
or relevant expertise might be not available in the treatment institute.
In such cases regional flaps can be used for salvage or for reconstruction
  as a treatment of choice.</p><p style="margin-left: 0px!important\;">•P
ectoralis major flap is considered the workhorse of reconstruction in the
area of head and neck yet it might take a considerable amount of time for
harvesting. Ιts bulkiness may be undesirable and it is not free of compli
cations while can be a factor of significant morbidity and impaired functi
 on in the donors area.</p><p style="margin-left: 0px!important\;">•Still
there are regional flaps that are quite versatile\, easier and faster to
harvest\, thus comprising alternative options for reconstruction while pre
serving pec major for future use.</p><p style="margin-left: 0px!important\
;">•In this presentation such flaps like cervicofacial flap\, supraclavi
cular artery island flap\, submental flaps are described and their potenti
 al use is discussed.</p>
