<p>Short biography; I was born at Ankara in 1961. I have completed my high school education in Istanbul. In 1979, I have started my medical education in Ankara University School of Medicine. I have married in 1993 and had one daughter and one son. Background; Ankara University, School of Medicine; 1979-1985, Military duty at Gulhane Military Medical Academy; 1985-1986, Residency of Otolaryngology; 1988-1992, Pittsburgh University School of Medicine, Dept of Otolaryngology, Visiting Fellow; 1992-1993, House Ear Institute, Visiting fellow - 1993, Nashville Otology group, Visiting fellow – 1993, Assistant Professor; 1995-1999, Associate Professor; 1999-2005, Clinical Professor since 2005. Specialty in Diseases & Conditions: Chronic otitis media, otosclerosis, vertigo, lateral skull base surgery (acoustic tumor, glomus, surgery for intractable vertigo etc.), facial nerve problems, other all types of otological and neuro-otological disorders. Publications; Around 300 national and international publications, oral and poster presentations. 50 chapters, 2 national books. More than 100 national and international invited speech, panel discussions etc. 250 national and international citations. Awards & Honors: 26th Politzer Society Meeting; 13-16 October 2007; Cleveland-USA, 2nd best scientific paper (An analysis of time dependent changes of neurotropic factors (BDNF, CNTF) in traumatic facial nerve injury of a nerve-cut and nerve-crush model in rats. )</p>
