<p>Dr. Nikolaos Machouchas, MD is a specialist in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery currently working at the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria (AOU) di Sassari, Italy. He has developed clinical expertise across a broad spectrum of ENT practice, with particular interests in rhinology, sinus surgery, anterior skull-base, otology, and the management of upper airway disorders. Dr. Machouchas completed his ENT residency at the University of Insubria, Varese (Italy), where he trained under the renowned rhinology and skull base team led by Prof. P. Castelnuovo.</p>
<p>Associate Head of the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Hospital General Universitario de Villalba and Fundación Jiménez Díaz, the latter being a tertiary referral center. I am a Fellow of the European Board of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (EBORL-HNS), reflecting a strong commitment to European standards of excellence.</p> <p>My clinical practice focuses on advanced sinonasal surgery, with particular expertise in endoscopic management of inflammatory disease and anterior skull base pathology. I am a member of the Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base sections at both institutions, where I actively participate in multidisciplinary care and the development of specialized clinical pathways.</p> <p>In parallel with my clinical work, I am actively involved in medical education. I am a Professor of Otolaryngology at the Faculty of Medicine of Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio and a Professor at the School of Nursing of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, contributing to the training of both medical students and nursing professionals.</p> <p>My work is guided by surgical precision, academic rigor, and a forward-looking vision focused on excellence in patient care and the continuous advancement of rhinology.</p>
