A brief overview of the current understanding of tumor immunology in head and neck cancer will be presented as an introduction. Furthermore, I will discuss our recent findings on tumor vaccine development in head and neck cancer, including the identification of epitopes derived from tumor antigens and the in vivo optimization of a peptide-based vaccine targeting head and neck cancer.

Erdoğan Özgür, MD, Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology, is a faculty member in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine, İzmir, Türkiye. His clinical practice and academic focus are primarily dedicated to head and neck oncology.
Dr. Özgür completed his PhD in the field of head and neck cancer research, with particular interest in tumor biology and immune checkpoint pathways in laryngeal carcinoma. His research focuses on surgical oncology, prognostic factors, and translational aspects of head and neck malignancies.
He is actively involved in clinical research and surgical management of head and neck cancers and regularly participates in national and international scientific meetings.
