thyroglossal duct cysts are among the most common congenital head and neck neck lumps with branchial cysts. resection of the cysts and its tract with hyoid body (sistrunk) is the main surgical treatment.


i want to show examples of primary and recurrent cases of throglossal cyst. i want to show my surgical approach.

I was born in 1982, in, Zonguldak , Turkey. I have graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (Ankara, TURKEY) in 2006. I have completed my Otorhinolaryngology residency in Gazi University Faculty of Medicine (Ankara, TURKEY) in 2011. I am still working as a clinician and teaching staff in Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Department. My special area of interest and expertise is head and neck surgery. During my residency and after getting ORL expertise, I have visited Netherlands Cancer Institutue (3 months) and Pitssburgh University Faculty of Medicine Head and Neck Surgery Departments, respectively, for this purposes. I have ongoing studies and have many published manuscripts and papers on Otorhinolaryngology and especially on Head and Neck surgery. My special interests for head and neck surgery are; parotidectomy and other salivary gland cancers surgery, transoral laser surgery for larynx carcinoma, oral cavity cancer surgery, total laryngectomy and voice rehabilitation (provax), neck dissection, transoral robotic surgery, thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy, head and neck reconstruction with local flaps, parapahryngeal space surgery, glomus caroticum surgery, maxillectomy and other nasal and paranazal sinus surgery including transnasal endoscopic approach, congentinal neck lump surgery (branchial and TGD cyts), head and neck sarcoma surgery, neck schawannoma surgery.
