Alperen Akbulut is a PhD candidate in Audiology and Speech Disorders at Marmara University, with his doctoral studies expected to conclude in mid-2026. Since 2020, he has served as a Lecturer in the Department of Audiology at the University of Health Sciences in Istanbul. He is currently the Principal Investigator for a project funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK), which involves evaluating verbal and musical short-term memory in pediatric cochlear implant users with a game-based software. His research further utilizes neurophysiological measurements to examine auditory processing and memory-related brain responses in this population.
Akbulut holds an MSc. in Audiology and Speech Disorders from Marmara University, where he graduated as a High Honors student, and a BSc. from Istanbul University. His master’s thesis provided the Turkish adaptation of the 'Music-Related Quality of Life' questionnaire. Prior to his current academic role, Akbulut spent three years as a Clinical Specialist at Advanced Bionics (2017–2020), providing technical and clinical support for cochlear implant user. His research revolves around cochlear implants and music perception, particularly with a commitment to enhance music-related quality of life.
