Alperen Akbulut is a PhD candidate in Audiology and Speech Disorders at Marmara University, with his doctoral studies expected to conclude in mid-2026. Since 2020, he has served as a Lecturer in the Department of Audiology at the University of Health Sciences in Istanbul. He is currently the Principal Investigator for a project funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK), which involves designing game-based software to evaluate verbal and musical short-term memory in pediatric cochlear implant users. His research further utilizes neurophysiological measurements to examine auditory processing and memory-related brain responses in this population.

Akbulut holds an MSc. in Audiology and Speech Disorders from Marmara University, where he graduated as a High Honors student, and a BSc. from Istanbul University. His master’s thesis provided the Turkish adaptation of the 'Music-Related Quality of Life' questionnaire. Prior to his current academic role, Akbulut spent three years as a Clinical Specialist at Advanced Bionics (2017–2020), providing technical and clinical support for cochlear implant user. His research revolves around cochlear implants and music perception, particularly with a commitment to enhance music-related quality of life.

Dr. Pa-Chun Wang is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Commission of Taiwan and a full professor at the Fu Jen Catholic University School of Medicine in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Dr. Wang has a doctor of medicine (MD) degree from China Medical University, Taichung, Taiwan. Master’s of Science degree in health policy and management from the Harvard T Chan School of Public Health, and an Executive Master’s in Business Administration from National Taiwan University. He has also completed an otolaryngology fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary of Harvard Medical School.

 

Dr. Wang is the President of the Asian Society for Quality in Health Care and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Quality in Health Care and IsQua External Evaluation Association. He has served on the Board of Directors for several professional organizations, including the Taiwan Otolaryngology Society, the Taiwan College of Hospital Executives, and the Taiwan Healthcare Quality Association, was the President of the Taiwan Society for Simulation in Healthcare, and was an active member of the National Association for Healthcare Quality in the United States, the International Otopathology (Schuknecht) Society, and the Collegium Oto-Rhino-Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum. Dr. Wang has published 400 peer-reviewed articles in leading scientific journals covering areas such as otolaryngology outcomes research, healthcare quality, and patient safety. Dr. Wang was nominated as the fellow of ISQua International Academy of Quality & Safety (IAQS) in 2021.
