He is Professor at Kyoto University and an otolaryngologist specializing in laryngology and head and neck surgery. His major research interests include laryngeal and tracheal reconstruction, regenerative medicine, artificial trachea, vocal fold stem cell research, and head and neck cancer.

Professor Omori served as Society President & Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Japanese Society of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (JSO-HNS), one of the largest national otolaryngology societies with approximately 11,000 members. During his leadership, he promoted education and training, clinical and research advancement, and global engagement. Internationally, he has been actively involved in the Collegium Oto-Rhino-Laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum (CORLAS), serving as a Councillor.

Throughout his career, Professor Omori has fostered collaboration among clinicians and researchers in Japan and worldwide, with the goal of advancing innovative treatments for laryngeal, tracheal, and head and neck disorders.
