Salvatore Lavalle

Dr. Salvatore Lavalle is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Department of Medicine and Surgery at Kore University of Enna, Sicily, Italy. From 06/2025 to date, he has been a member of the faculty for a PhD program titled "Innovative Technologies in Biomedical Sciences" (cycle XLI) at UKE - Kore University of Enna, and for a PhD program titled "Biodversity" (cycle XLI) at the University of Palermo and he is also a Professor of radiology at the School of Specialization in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation at Kore University of Enna. He is the author of 52 scientific articles in national and international journals. He pursued his medical education at the University of Messina, Italy, and completed a 6-month internship at the Endocrinology and Diabetes Department of the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, UK, under Prof. Colin Dayan. He also underwent a 4-month traineeship at the Cardiology Department of The North Lisbon University Hospital Center in Portugal. Dr. Lavalle spent 5 years at the Experimental Radiology Unit of the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy, where he obtained his specialization and worked until October 2023. The main focus of his research is on head and neck imaging, collaborating with the European group Young-Otolaryngologists of the International Federation of Oto-rhino-laryngological Societies (YO-IFOS) and with the Section of Head and Neck Radiology of the SIRM (Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology). Recently, his work has concentrated on artificial intelligence, radiomics and predictive models.
