Farhan Tarafder

<p>Dr. Farhan Tarafder is an Otolaryngologist and Head & Neck Surgeon from Dhaka, Bangladesh, dedicated to advancing contemporary ENT practice through clinical excellence, surgical innovation, research, and education. He completed his FCPS and MCPS in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons and additionally holds MRCS (ENT) and DOHNS qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.</p> <p>He currently serves as a Junior Consultant in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at ENT & Head-Neck Cancer Hospital,Agargaon, Dhaka, a leading tertiary ENT center in Bangladesh, where he independently manages outpatient services, inpatient care, operative cases, and multidisciplinary ward teams while contributing to teaching, departmental administration, and academic activities. Prior to this appointment, he received extensive specialist training at Bangladesh Medical University, National Institute of ENT and Taqwa specialized hospital, Dhaka, working closely with senior consultants in high-volume tertiary care settings.</p> <p>His clinical interests include thyroid and parathyroid surgery under loupe magnification, laryngology and voice disorders, rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery, pediatric airway disease, sleep-related breathing disorders, and otologic surgery. He has particular expertise in office-based laryngology procedures, injection laryngoplasty, endoscopy-assisted adenoidectomy, and endoscopic nasal surgery.</p> <p>Dr. Tarafder has undertaken international hands-on training in Singapore, Switzerland, and India, with particular interests in rhinology and head and neck surgery,His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented scientific work at numerous national and international meetings, including the SAARC ENT Congress, Asia-Pacific Laryngology Congress, and other regional scientific forums. He has also served as a speaker, anchor and organizing committee member at major national and international conferences.</p> <p>Outside medicine, Dr. Tarafder is an avid football enthusiast and a lifelong supporter of Manchester United. He enjoys travelling, particularly to Turkey, and remains actively engaged in philanthropic initiatives within his community. As the son of a distinguished senior professor of Otolaryngology in Bangladesh, he was introduced to international ENT meetings at a young age, attending the 18th IFOS World Congress (held in Italy in 2005) during his school years. Returning to the international stage as a specialist and a speaker now represents a particularly meaningful milestone in his career. He considers it a privilege to represent Bangladesh and contribute to the global exchange of knowledge in otolaryngology while continuing his commitment to patient-centered care, academic development, and surgical excellence.</p>
