Omar Ozgur
Dr. Ozgur is a board-certified ophthalmologist and an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) accredited oculoplastic surgeon. Currently affiliated with Scripps Clinic in California, he specializes in the medical and surgical management of conditions affecting the eyelids, tear drainage system, orbit, and the upper and mid-face. He earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Following residency, he completed a two-year ASOPRS-accredited fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Uniquely combining technology with medicine, Dr. Ozgur holds a BS in Information and Computer Science from UC Irvine and previously worked as a software engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He has integrated this technological expertise into medical care and research throughout his career, serving as an aerospace medical intern at the Kennedy Space Center and as a co-investigator at the Johnson Space Center, where he researched ocular, orbital, and facial changes in astronauts.
