The Cervico-Mediastinal Junction Surgery: Tips and Tricks
Marco Piemonte, Nihal Seden Boyoğlu

The Cervico-Mediastinal Junction (i.e. «Thoracic inlet») is a virtual plane separating the neck from the thorax, delimited anteriorly by the sternal manubrium, posteriorly by the prevertebral plane at the 7th CV – 1st DV level, laterally by the first rib.

This region is often interested by various but important pathological entities, which often need a surgical treatment. Cervico-Mediastinal Junction surgery shows delicate intrinsic problems, which requires a particular prudence and a great surgical experience.

This Instructional Course is aimed to describe anatomical, clinical and surgical features about the topic, as much as some important problems which could be met by the surgeon and practical tricks to avoid them.
