Zachary Elwell
<p>Zachary Elwell, MD, is a fourth-year resident physician in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. He graduated summa cum laude from Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Spanish Literature and Culture. He completed his MD at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, graduating with distinction in global health and medical Spanish. He is part of the leadership team of the Global OHNS Initiative, serving in multiple roles, including as a member of the Advisory Committee, Regional Representative for the Americas, and co-principal investigator of OtoSurg 1. Additionally, he is on the national leadership team of the Global Surgery Student Alliance (GSSA), serving as one of the Vice Presidents of Residents and Trainees and as a founding member of the GSSA Equity Initiative. He has led research projects on multiple topics, including global otolaryngology, global surgical education, rhinology, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and pediatric otolaryngology. He will be applying for rhinology and skull base surgery fellowship this fall. He lives in Tucson, AZ, where he enjoys hiking and trail running.</p>
