Associate Professor Sümerya Duru Birgi is a faculty member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Ankara University, where she has continued her academic career since 2018. She completed her residency training at Hacettepe University in 2015 and subsequently served as a clinical researcher for three months at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds.

Her principal clinical and academic interests include head and neck cancers, breast cancer, and gynecological cancers. She has actively participated in numerous academic studies and scientific meetings, with ongoing research focused on these areas. Her work is centered on the implementation of contemporary radiation oncology approaches and the multidisciplinary management of cancer patients. Through her academic and clinical practice, she aims to contribute to the advancement of cancer treatment and to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered oncologic care.
