Betsy Davis

Dr. Betsy Davis is the National Director for Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Oral Oncology of the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare and Head and Neck Specialists. Dr. Davis completed her dental degree at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine and completed her prosthodontic residency at the University of Iowa and a residency in implant prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthodontics at UCLA College of Dentistry. She completed her fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Following fellowship, she joined the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina and developed the MUSC Maxillofacial Prosthodontic Clinic.  She served as the Wendy and Keith Wellin Endowed Chair in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Oral Oncology for 27 years. 

 

She is past President of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics (AAMP) and past-Treasurer of the International Society of Maxillofacial Rehabilitation.    She serves as the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) and AAMP representative to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. She is the recipient of the Presidential Citation Award from the American Head and Neck Society, an inductee in the American College of Dentists, the recipient of the 2021 ACP’s Distinguished Clinician Award, the 2021 AAMP Andrew J. Ackerman Memorial Award for lifetime achievement in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics, and the 2025 ACP’s Presidential Award for her advocacy for Maxillofacial Prosthodontics.
