<p>Koji Araki received his M.D. from Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan, in 1997, where he subsequently completed his residency and fellowship training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. He earned his Ph.D. from Keio University in 2006.</p> <p>From 2006 to 2008, he served as a Research Fellow in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, USA. In 2009, he joined the National Defense Medical College (NDMC), Saitama, Japan, as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2016. Since 2022, he has served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at NDMC.</p> <p>His clinical and research interests encompass head and neck surgery and laryngology, with particular emphasis on laryngeal preservation strategies—including transoral surgery for head and neck cancer—as well as basic research on laryngeal nerve regeneration.</p>
