Shane Anderson

Dr. Shane Anderson is a Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Fellowship trained otologist based in Northern Australia with over fifteen years specializing in pediatric and adult otology and cochlear implant surgery. He provides both public and private service. He trained and studied in Australia, United Kingdom, and USA. In 2014, he was awarded a pediatric and adult otology fellowship at the University of Arkansas under the guidance of Professor John Dornhoffer. Dr. Anderson is supervising otologist with Attune Hearing Services and the Hear and Say Centre. Dr. Anderson is the Director of North Queensland Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery in Townsville. He is a member of the medical advisory board of Deadly Ears Queensland, Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, member of the American Academy of Otology and Head and Neck Surgeons, board member of the Prosper Meniere Society, and member of the International Working Group on Endoscopic Ear Surgery. He is the director of regional training for North Queensland in ENT surgery. Dr. Anderson's areas of research include outcomes of sudden sensorineural hearing loss treatment with hyperbaric oxygen management, managing effects of chronic suppurative otitis media in the Tropics, and management of malignant otitis externa.
