Arunachalam Iyer

Prof. Arun Iyer is a Consultant Otologist and Professor ( University of Glasgow)  at University Hospital Monklands in Lanarkshire, Scotland. He completed his specialist training through the Newcastle rotation and subsequently undertook a prestigious fellowship in Otology and Neurotology at Auckland City Hospital and Starship Children’s Hospital in New Zealand.

Mr. Iyer's clinical interests encompass endoscopic ear surgery, chronic otitis media with an emphasis on mastoid cavity obliteration, stapes surgery, implantable hearing devices, and the management of vestibular disorders.

He currently serves as the President of the British Society of Otology and holds the position of Editorial and Library Lead for the Otology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine, London.

Internationally, Mr. Iyer is a member of the Executive Board of the International Working Group on Endoscopic Ear Surgery (IWGEES). He also contributes significantly to postgraduate education as a Surgical Tutor for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and is a member of the College’s Education and Professional Training Board for Otolaryngology.

He is the Course Director for several esteemed surgical training programs, including the Endoscopic Ear Surgery Course, Emergency ENT Dissection Course, Head & Neck and Emergency ENT Course, and the Temporal Bone Dissection Course, all hosted at the University of Glasgow.
