Matthew Crowson

Matthew G. Crowson MD MPA MASc MBI is an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Director of AI & Clinical Informatics at Mass Eye & Ear. Dual-board certified in Otolaryngology and Clinical Informatics, he leads a translational research program that applies large language models, diffusion imaging networks, and multimodal agents to diagnostics, surgical planning, and healthcare operations. Dr Crowson also serves as Director of AI/Generative-AI Product Management at Wolters Kluwer Health, where he guides enterprise deployment of foundation-model solutions for evidence synthesis, clinical documentation, and guideline development. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, secured competitive funding from industry partnerships with Google Health and Oracle, and frequently advises professional societies on AI governance and regulatory strategy. Dr Crowson’s work has been cited in JAMA, NEJM AI, and Nature Digital Medicine, and he lectures internationally on pragmatic, ethics-forward pathways for bringing generative AI from prototype to bedside.
