Roland Giger

Professor Roland Giger graduated from the Medical College of Zurich University in Switzerland in 1995, where he received his basic training in General Surgery. He completed the training of Head and Neck Surgery at the University Hospital of Geneva in 2007, after a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Surgery at the European Anticancer Center, Institute Gustave-Roussy, Villejuif, France. He joined its full-time faculty in 2012, where he is Associated Professor and Vice-director at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, Switzerland and Leader of the Head and Neck Anticancer Center, University Cancer Center.

Prof. Giger is an active member of the Swiss and French Head & Neck Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the European Head and Neck Society.

Roland Giger is active in clinical and translational research programs focusing on improvements in oncologic, functional and quality of life outcomes. He has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and 5 book chapters.

As a physician, scientist and professor, Roland Giger has delivered over 180 scientific presentations in national and international congresses.
