Dimitris Kikidis

Prof. Dimitrios Kikidis (MD, MSc, PhD) is an Otolaryngologist and Assistant Professor, with clinical and research specialization in hearing disorders, tinnitus, and vertigo management. Since 2014, he has served as the Coordinator of the Neurotology Clinic and Laboratory at the 1st University ENT Clinic at Hippokration General Hospital, which includes a seven-member interdisciplinary team.

He was admitted to the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and holds a Master's Degree in Occupational and Environmental Health. He completed both his specialty training and doctoral dissertation on acoustic neuromas at the 1st University ENT Clinic.

He has been awarded a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) following a competitive examination—the first in the ENT specialty—for postdoctoral research on cochlear synaptopathy.

He has participated in 11 competitive European-funded programs, nine of which were Horizon projects, serving as co-Principal Investigator in five of them. Through these programs, he has contributed to the creation of an augmented and virtual reality room for addressing balance disorders, as well as three mobile phone applications for tinnitus and hearing.

He has collaborated with over 40 research organizations and companies across Europe. He is a member of the seven-member authoring team of the European guidelines for tinnitus. He has over 60 publications in international journals and has taught in five postgraduate programs as well as at the undergraduate level since 2014.
